FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JULY 8, 2009
FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS FOR NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS TO BE OFFERED AT NORTH HUDSON COMMUNITY ACTION CORP. HEALTH FAIR
North Hudson Community Action Corporation (NHCAC), New Jersey’s largest provider of federally qualified health care, is celebrating the first anniversary of its Hackensack Health Center in Bergen County. As part of these celebrations, this non-profit organization is sponsoring a free health screening and health education fair on Saturday, August 1, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon at its site at 25 Salem Street.
Doctors, nurses, nutritionists, social workers and other health care professionals will offer free screenings and health information in a range of health areas, including cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. (Patients should fast for 12 hours prior to taking the screening tests that morning.)
As one of North Jersey’s largest non-profit organizations, North Hudson CAC operates nine health centers serving some two million residents in Bergen, Passaic and Hudson Counties. Last year it assumed management for the Hackensack health care facility previously managed by Hackensack University Medical Center.
In addition to the health screenings, there will be free games and activities for children at the fair. For more information, please contact Nurse Cissy at (201) 996-2121, extension 2357, or FAX at (201) 996-4432.
