WORK OF YOUNG LOCAL ARTIST CHOSEN FOR NATIONAL WIC ASSOCIATION CALENDARS

For the third consecutive year the National WIC (Women, Infants & Children) Association has selected the art work of a child from the North Hudson Community Action Corporation program to display in its national calendar.

The work of John Carlos Suero of Union City was chosen by the national organization from hundreds of entries nationwide.  His work will be featured in wall and pocket calendars that are distributed to millions of WIC families throughout the nation.  He will also receive a $50 gift basket for his winning entry.

Two young artists enrolled in the local WIC program – Ana Victoria Gonzalez of West New York and Ronaldo Carrillo of Guttenberg – had their work displayed in previous National WIC Association calendars.  WIC is a federally funded program for mothers and young children which teaches the importance of nutrition, exercise and breast feeding.
