NORTH HUDSON COMMUNITY ACTION CORP. HOLDS GRAND OPENING CEREMONIES FOR ITS NEW CALL CENTER
State and local officials joined with North Hudson Community Action Corp. leaders today in grand opening ceremonies for the agency’s new state-of-the-art Call Center.
The new center, located in a wing of St. Joseph’s High School on 55th Street and Park Avenue in West New York, was funded with a $172,300 grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
“This new Call Center is the culmination of a lot of planning and work by our staff, and I want to thank the State Department of Health and Senior Services for their generous support,” said Christopher F. Irizarry, president and chief executive officer of the agency. “The demand for our services has increased dramatically in recent years, and this new Call Center will allow us to better serve more people, more efficiently,” he added.
The new Call Center will allow the agency to:
- serve more people in a more efficient manner
- determine which of the agency’s 10 health centers in Hudson County is the appropriate center for each potential patient to seek help
- more easily determine insurance coverage and/or billing information
The new center features a “real time” video monitoring system so that agency staffers can determine exactly how many people they are serving daily, and how long each call takes. With the information gathered in this system, staffers will then be able to direct callers to the health center that can best serve them.
“With this new system, we’re streamlining the paperwork process and using our time to deliver needed health services for the community,” said Irizarry.
North Hudson Community Action Corp. is a federally qualified health care and social services agency with centers throughout Hudson County, and in Bergen and Passaic Counties.
