For almost 30 years, our non-profit, Statewide, State-funded "NJ Self-Help Group Clearinghouse" has been providing both residents and professionals with descriptions, meeting locations & phone contacts for the now over 6,750 local community support groups that meet throughout NJ, and about 1,100 national, online, & model peer support networks. In addition to helping people find support groups to meet their needs, the Clearinghouse also helps those interested in joining with others to start a needed new peer support group.
So, especially if you have any relative, friend, or neighbor who feels "all alone" with their particular problem, please let them know of the many groups of people who "have been there," and can often help them. Just give them our our toll-free helpine, 1-800-367-6274, more easily remembered as 1-800-FOR- M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help).
